The Egyptian Drug Authority Celebrates the Success of Private Sector Participation in Completing the Pharmacy Internship Program for Pharmacy Students, in collaboration with representatives from universities.
Dr. Ali El Ghamrawy, Chairman of the Egyptian Drug Authority, confirmed that pharmaceutical education in Egypt has witnessed a significant transformation since the implementation of the Pharm D program in the 2019/2020 academic year. He explained that the goal is to enhance the quality of educational programs and develop graduates’ skills in line with labor market needs, thereby supporting the healthcare system and the national pharmaceutical industry.
He also announced that since its launch in October 2024, the training program has successfully trained more than 11,000 pharmacists through intensive practical and theoretical programs spanning 18 weeks, totaling 180 training hours.
During the ceremony, Dr. El Saied Kamel, Chairman of Utopia Pharmaceutical Industries, along with the Utopia factory, was honored in recognition of his outstanding contributions to training pharmacy students and supporting the internship program.

In his closing remarks, Dr. El Ghamrawy emphasized that the internship program represents a strategic step toward preparing a new generation of pharmacists with strong professional competence and responsibility, enhancing Egypt’s regional and international competitiveness.
